Hello! My name is JOANNA HU. I am a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), Music Educator & Performer originally from Taiwan and now based in Upper East Side, New York City.

I earned my Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from New York University (NYU) in 2014 and Master of Science degree in Communication Science from Emerson College in 2023. I have more than 10 years of experience teaching both piano and voice and my clinical experience including working with patients with voice and swallowing disorders at Mount Sinai West Grabscheid Voice & Swallowing Center and New York Neurogenic Speech Language Pathology. I had been a full-time music teacher, choir conductor and Chief of Music Talented Special Education Program in Makung Junior High School, Taiwan for five years. I also worked as an Adjunct Voice Faculty at NYU in 2021. I am currently serving as a voice teacher, teaching private voice lessons in an afternoon program at The Dalton School, NYC.

In addition to my teaching experience, I have substantial performing experience as a Singer (classical, musical theatre, pop), Actor (theatre, commercial and film) )and published Model.

In 2013, I played the lead role, Hubba in an Off-Off-Broadway show, Gayuranus produced by the Alien Theater Company. In the spring of 2014, I was honored by the Association of Vocal Artists of R. O. C. (Taiwan) as a New Star and had my debut at the National Taiwan Recital Hall. In September 2015, I was a semi-finalist in an international opera competition,15th Competizione dell`Opera in Linz, Austria. I also explored various experimental voice and body techniques when performing with NeoSonance and Dr. Fancy, the former a contemporary music ensemble and the latter an electronic music band. 

I have been modeling for many years in both Asia and the U.S. Being both an educator and artist, I feel extremely blessed and am excited to collaborate with more talents from the world.
